THE WORKSHOP

At our workshop, we create icons in the Byzantine style with burnished gold, primarily following the Cretan and Palaiologan schools, carefully copying ancient models, as well as our own designs.
The most important thing for us is to capture the forms of the depicted figures as they appear in ancient models, without losing our own character. The materials we use to paint the icons are egg tempera and powders with glue on marine plywood or natural lime wood.
The gilding is done with 22 and 24-carat gold leaf, either matte or burnished gold. At our workshop, we are also capable of taking on iconography work for sacred temples.

As for our bookbinding workshop, we handle all types of handmade bookbinding and the restoration of ancient handwritten texts.
